Fraud from Malaysia

Postby varghese » Sat Jun 27, 2009 10:26 am

Here is the story of a guy milking the table tennis community.

At our TableTennisStore.US, we received an order from Malaysia. Here is the address of the guy:

Mohd Mirul
LOT PT 218 JALAN PASIR PEKAN KELANTAN
PASIR MAS, --
17000
Malaysia

I have spoken to this guy to confirm the order, as well as received an email from him within an hour. The name on the credit card was wiliamsam which was suspicious. He claimed he is the owner.

Now another guy with name Shukor Manaf claims someone else has used the credit card without his permission.

Does anyone know Shukor Manaf or Mohn Mirul from Malaysia?

Never heard of the names before. Just be careful, varghese, as credit card frauds exists all over the world and more so in the South East Asia region.

If the transaction from either Mastercard or Visa was approved (and you are assured of the payment), then no worries. But, if there are no approval from them, better be on the alert as the cards can be stolen/forged and the transaction is a fraudelent one.

Yeah once the payment is made, no matter what the claim is it's not your "business" to deal with him. If this Shukor Manaf think that someone was using his card without his permission then he has to file the complaints to the appropriate authorities to get compensated and should not bother you--unless he return the product then there is a slight chance that you may consider to refund the money.

I will have this guy caught soon.

This guy defrauded Aussie Table Tennis (http://www.aussietabletennis.com/) too. Geoff of Aussie Table Tennis told me about it. The second transaction did not come to my attention that easily because it came from one of our affiliates. The second one was from Malaysia.

Unfortunately, Shukor Manaf won the case. The products we shipped to Mohd Mirul were received by Mirul.

This is a serious fraud. The guy Mohd Mirul might have stolen the credit card from Shukor Manaf and used to buy stuff from TableTennisStore.US. When Shukor Manaf came to know about it, he has filed a case with the credit card.

If you are in Malaysia and would like to help us to catch this guy, contact the admin. He should not be around to fool more people. We have the evidence to give to the police.
