What comes into your mind when you hear the word table tennis Junkie-ism?

Is a table tennis Junkie, a junk rubber player aka long pips player? A table tennis equipment lover? Or who is it?

My current and past junk rubber started with old barna pips then to butterfly pips then to anti, now I have tried long pips, short and medium, now I am back to anti. I found most junk works all to well up to a curtain level. Better players find ways around them. I find I do have an advantage when I play against players with junk rubber and often win. I have a list of junk...ahh other long pip as well as anti I would like to try. I have luck with gambler peacekeeper in ox for my bh and juic neo anti 1.0 on my other set up. I will decide later this year what set up to stay with...hmmm .

may the JUNK RUBBER be with you.. good luck in your new forum

Thanks Bob for the first post and your wishes.

So, using pips rubbers is your table tennis junkie-ism.

I have been playing with long pips from 2007. I have tried a lot of pips, and find it interesting that something I like may not be a fit for someone else. Unlike the inverted rubbers that can generate spin, we are sometimes limited to what we can do with pips. The smart players get used to what your pips are generating within few shots. With the friction pips, you have little advantage of eliminating that guess.

Today is my club day. I have to find some new ways to win against the smart players :).

Probably someone who plays a lot of Table Tennis, and probably is a good player. We don't play a lot of pips here.

Hi Will, welcome!

The table tennis junkie-ism does not describe the game of a player who is playing with pips. It is beyond that 'junk' word that has been used to describe pips players.

What is your favorite part of this game, and what you will die for if someone has tried to take away it from you. Yes, your obsession.

I'm a junkie, I'm a lover.

I'm so much into table tennis that even after my college career is over, I play fairly frequent, still. I love the sport because it keeps me fit, playing it gives me some kind of good feeling, and most importantly, I get to play it with other table tennis junkies, specially my teammates and friends.

Thanks galvin.

I can relate to your junkie-ism. I had a break from playing in the past few weeks. I have played only once a week because of some busy schedule.

I want to be back into 5 days a week play from next week onwards. That will bring me back into the same "goog feeling" that you also had.

For me a TT junkie is someone obsessed with TT, either through the equipment or techniques. I am not a gear head but would love to exchange knowledges with fellow TT enthusiasts on techniques, style of play and the counters.

My TT junkiesm started when I was watching a South Korean player doing chops and returning the ball every time on the table no matter how hard his opponent smashes into the table. I have tried to play like a chopper but to no avail, as I am not defensive by nature.

I prefer inverted rubber, not so much into long pips, do play with short pips sometimes.
