Training Camps for Oldies in Europe

Postby EastClintwood » Sun Nov 08, 2009 5:01 am

I have just come back to Table Tennis after a break of 30+ years and I realise that if I am to get the best out of things, I need to get going again quickly before I am far too old. Does anyone know of any suitable Training camps in Europe in the near future, preferably with reasonable travel links. I am aware that there are plenty of Summer Schools, what I need is something in the Winter, lasting about a week, where I can relearn some good habits and find out if I am ever likely to play a credible game again.

PS I live in the UK and apart from TeesSport, activity in this area is virtually non-existent, but then again ETTA is just so much bluster, with little product.

Welcome Eastwood to tabletennisJunkie.

I live in the US. I know the training camps in the US. Indian Community Center in California is a place where you can find camps regularly.

In Europe, there are training camps at various places. One place I remember is a training camp in Hungary. They may have a camp this year.

Werner Schlager Academy of Table Tennis will be open next year. It's website is http://www.wernerschlageracademy.com/.

Thanks for your response, I had seen the details of Hungary, but my last trip there was so horrible that I would only go back under duress.

I guess I might think about the US, but only the Eastern states and again somewhere to where I could get a direct flight out of London. Travel would be onerous, but at least there would not be much of a language problem. :D
