Yet another catchy pictures.

I have seen only one distributor here in the US for the Avalox. The Alpha Table Tennis which is run by Diego sells Avalox. I have seen a recent ad of it in the USATT magazine. They have some new Hinoki blades now.

Is this P700 a new one in the market?

Few other questions:

1. Have you put some kind of sealer on the handle to make it more shiny? Or has it come like that from the manufacturer?

2. Is Avalox a Chinese or Japanese brand? It says it is being used by Chinese national team. It looks like Chinese.

3. Isn't that handle anatomic? Do you prefer Anatomic to other handle styles like Flared for example?

thanks Varghese...

1. I sealed the whole blade with glossy sealer thus it looks shiny.

2. not sure which country, but the blade itself was made in sweden for the chinese national team. before they go by the name Avalox, nowadays they went through some changes and goes by the name Avalo with new logo AVX if I'm not mistaken.

3. I still prefer FL though i have a few AN and ST blades in my closets...

P700 is a 7 ply blade and has been around a long time and was used by some famous chinese players... the other famous one is P500 a 5 ply... there are also other series beside these two...

answer for 2:
Avalox was a co-op by the Chinese and Swedish for the Chinese players after the Chinese play with Stiga and ask for similar Swe blades. The Avalox is everywhere but Japan. In Japan they sold under Nittaku P700 or Nittaku P500, which I owned one, because the Japanese players can only enter tournaments using registered Japanese brand name.

That is so interesting. You may be right. I have not heard USATT is approving any table tennis equipment. But I have seen so much hype about JTTA approval. So, the players can participate only if the equipment has a JTTA logo. I have read in the history of the XIOM brand that they've got JTTA approval some 30 years ago.

We may have to research this further. The XIOM products are sold in Japan through TSP. I have not seen a JTTA logo on the XIOM rubbers that come to the US market. They might be making special products for the Japanese market though.

There was a small price difference between the Avalox version and the Nittaku version when these blades (P500, P700, etc.) were available--may be $10, but since the some are discontinued the Nittaku version is valued much more but the quality is the same. The blades are just picked for the Japanese market and from the same factory but the Chinese and Japanese think differently just because of the Japanese logo. A first generation Nittaku P500 is very valuable, almost as much as 2nd generation Banda Waldner. The later generation is less.

Is the P700 rated like OFF+ and P500 as OFF? If they are rated as the same, the two additional layers in P700 may not make much difference in speed, but in thickness which some players who thick blades.

the p700 didn't feel like off+, perhaps in the off and the p500 should be in the off-...
i traded my p700 only after a short while of having it...
the photo were taken right before the trade so that i have something to remember it by and also adding to the blades photo's gallery...
