Playing Against Opponents With Offensive Strokes

Postby 729 fx » Tue Jun 23, 2009 3:21 am

These offensive players are constantly looking for a chance to unleash a deadly kill shot. To beat these players, you have to be just as aggressive as they are, for example, to put the looper on the defensive mindset instead of allowing him to play offensive. Keep playing the ball either short to where he has no choice but to push the ball. Alternatively, place the ball more towards the middle so you can keep this player from using his strengths.

Counterdrivers are speed freaks. They love trading rallies wiith someone who play the same way. The faster the play the better it is for this type of player. The strategy against this type of players is slowing the game down or varying shots of chops and pushes. Since this player thrives on light to no spin, use heavy spin.

The best way to train is thru interval training. You accelerate and you rest. In the game you can relax and defend only if your offense is great and fast, that you don't feel you don't have your speed.
