Alternatives to TT Brand Glues

Postby acer800 » Tue Jul 07, 2009 9:30 am

I've used butterfly free chack glue and a few other big branded company's glues, but I have only tried Elemer's rubber cement as an alternative to a real Table Tennis brand glue. Does anyone have any other suggestions on other glue alternatives?

-Thanks

Michael's sells another brand of rubber cement (plus thinner). You can try other arts and crafts stores and I am sure there are more brands available.

eJunkie may be talking about tearmender. USATT said in one of its communication that tearmender has less VOC compared with other glues.

I did use some bicycle tyre glue made by Dunlop a few years ago but I believe these contains VOC as well. Not suitable for the current tt condition.
1) Primary set-up : YinHe(Galaxy) 986 Sriver FX / Pluto
2) Spare set-up 1 : Japan LAK - CJ8000 / 799 OX
3) Spare set-up 2 : Palio T7 - White Shark / 729 FX

Yes, they may contain the VOC. The water based is safe. I personally use the branded ones only. I can blame it on the brand if things don't go well :D .

Thank you guys for the feedback, I've also heard good stuff wit tearmender. I'm going to probably try it out once my Elemer's rubber cement runs out! :D

Sincerely,

Elmers have a lot of VOC. If you are not playing in tournaments, you are okay to use Elmers.
