Computer experts, what's this?

Postby ejunkie » Sat Nov 21, 2009 5:48 pm

I keep getting these error messages when I login to another forum, but I haven't change a thing on my computer myself. Can someone help?

Try clearing the cached pages and cookies from your browser. It's under Tools->Options.

If that does not help, you have a security setting that the other site does not like. You can lower the security to LOW and try. Please be aware that this setting will effect any website after you make the change. It is a security risk.

All the above settings are under the internet settings under the TOOLS menu.

Thanks Varghese. I wouldn't lower the security setting, just have to bear it.

The newer browsers have added so much security into it so that some sites don't work especially the sites with older or unstable software. Even Google has started investigating sites and report some sites are not safe. It is unlike previous years when you had a site and it would run. Now a lot of attention needs to run websites. The search engines are more like humans now.

Our store http://www.tabletennisstore.us has dropped recently in google listing because of the move we did from the table tennis network site. It took months to have a lot of things cleaned up to have us back.

There are two ways to look at this issue.
On the view of the seller/promoter of the website, the new search engine is stricter in the sense that so much security is embedded into it so that some sites don't work especially the sites with older or unstable software. Therefore, one need to do some work to enable the site to work.

From the view of the user/enquirer, the new security setting is a good thing as it protect his computer from lotsa spam mail/unnecessary messages from unwanted sites. Only downside is that some good stuff may be recognised as some sites are not safe. It is unlike previous years when you had a site and it would run.
