Do you pray b4 you play?

Do you pray b4 you play? and do you think it helps?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 112AAwk02V

I pray but I don't ask God to help me beat the other guy, I pray that God would help me to play to the best of my ability, and to remember all the methods that I practiced and to play the way I did in practice! and also not to get injured!!

what are your comments? :D

A thought provoking question.

I'm a religious person. Prayer is part of my game. That gives me more focus and plan my strategies. It is like I'm writing an exam to pass. I pray so that I can perform good - as you have said - to pass the exam. Sure, I have desire to beat the other members in the class. When I was a Child I used to do that. But not anymore. I pray so that God gives me abilities to perform good.

I have opposition only to people who are not ethical and take advantage of others without a fair game.

For me, I do not. I played friendlies, mostly, not competitive tournaments.

Even if I were to pray, I will pray for everyone to have good health, fun time in participating in ping pong games and hopefully no serious injury to everone playing ping pong.

I don't pray because I am not religious but even if I am God would be a very busy man if I pray before I play--you know what I mean?

If both opponents pray to the same God to win, who would God favor? :P May be the one who has done less sin?

Ha Ha Ha. That is a good statement for thoughts, varghese.

I am not sure about other religion, but for Buddhists, they rely on themselves, not pray to win. As one of their wise saying stated " Your life is in your hands".

Cheers.

I think God would be pretty even-handed, Varghese. He would give one extra spin and the other more speed. :D
