Also commonly known as Tendinitis. If anyone suffers from "Tennis elbow" or pain at the elbow, it is best to give your elbow a rest for few days or a week.

The treatment for tendinitis is a series of steps known as RICE. The four letters in this acronym stand for:

R - rest
I - ice
C - compression
E - elevation

The best way to apply ice is with ice water in a bag. The water insures that the cold will be applied directly to the skin. Chemical ice packs are not advisable since these are too cold to use directly on the skin.

Compression is a means of reducing swelling and keeping the joint in its proper position. An elastic wrap, such as an Ace bandage, can be used to provide compression. In some cases, a splint may be used to keep the joint from moving for serious cases.

Elevation meant that to keep the elbow on some support, for example when sitting down, do lay the elbow on the arm rest and not hanging it down.

Thanks 729. You have brought up this health concept.

In 2004, I was attempting to play tennis to be in shape. I had a passion for tennis from my child hood. Unfortunately that game was not for me. After a long gap of some months, I went to play with my friends. Alas, I got tennis elbow. I had the tennis elbow for like 6 months. I did not play tennis after that. It was so painful.

In 2005 I started playing table tennis in a low scale. At that time the tennis elbow pain had gone a little. In 2006 I turned to play chopping game. The tennis elbow came back. At that time I consulted a coach and he told me it has to do with my chopping action. It was not bad through. The pain slowly spread to the two middle fingers. That was very painful.

At a Killerspin tournament in Ohio, I saw a demonstration of how the table tennis players for the tournament there like Kreanga etc... took advantage of the Chiropractics. In addition to the massaging they receive, there was a Chiropractic there to help them perform well.

That encouraged me to go to a Chiropractic close to my home. This Chiropractic is also a sports specialist. He is the consultant for the Brigham Young University football team. (byw, BYU is like 5 minutes drives from my home. Proud of this college. :) ) He has told me a very important factor to keep our game in good shape and avoid injuries is to get our body tuned by a Chiropractic regularly. He fixed my tennis elbow at that time. I have it occasionally. I go to the Chiropractic and he fixes it.

In addition to whatever 729 suggested, it is a good idea to see a Chiropractic also especially someone who has a sports background.

That is correct, varghese.
Whatever injury we suffer, the first thing to do is see a specialist. Only they know what is wrong with our injury after they have perform a couple of test on our injured parts.
