ITTF Cadet Challenge & Junior Circuit Finals are to be staged in Tokyo from Monday 19th to Sunday 25th October 2009. The number of teams has been reduced from eight to six, namely Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, Pan America and the host nation Japan. North America has joined forces with Latin America to become Pan America.
One innovation and there is a second. The singles events are only for players born in 1994 and 1995, a maximum of one per country, the tournament being a qualification event for the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010; the top four boys and four girls will receive the first four passports to Singapore.
