Massages After A Lengthy Workout

Postby 729 fx » Tue Jun 30, 2009 2:04 am

How many of us went for a body massages or foot reflexology after a heavy workout?

For me I normally go for a 2-hours body massages after a round of golf (18-holes around 5 hours of gameplay), so that in the evening I can last another 2 - 3 hours of table tennis.
Otherwise, I will just go for an hour foot massage (reflexology) just to wind down and relax.

How much does it cost for a massage in Malaysia?

I play 4 to 5 days a week. I get back from the club late. There is no massage center open at that time.

What really have helped me though is chiropractic. I go to Chiropractic every month at least and adjust my body. That has helped me to have positive energy as well as keep me away from injuries.

A Chiropractic for 15 minutes charges between $50 and $75.

It costs between USD$12 - US$D20 an hour excluding tips for body massage.
As for foot reflexology (I sometimes go for this after a long hike/jungle trek/hillclimbing) it costs between USD$8 - USD$13 an hour.

I only went to the chiropractor when I suffers from backache (due to muscle pull or spasms) once in a while.

Wow, the prices in Malaysia are much lower than here in the USA. It's very interesting to know about the different prices for "services" offered in different places around the world.

The king of all massage (IMHO) is Ayurveda. Here is some info about Ayurveda massaging. It comes from my state in India. It is not only good for recreation but also for people who had accidents and paralysis.

I have recently found out that there are some massage places in the US offer this Ayurveda.

Most of the services (not just massaging) is expensive in the United States. In our homes in India, we have maids to help us run the home. To have a maid in the United States cost the fortune.

Yes, that too.

Ayurvedic massages also available in my country, but I have never been to one.

You are right, that having a maid is costly in my country too. But I know that a wealthy family in Indonesia can afford to have several househelper - gardener, driver, maid for cooking, maid for taking care of children etc.

not really... pretty much from middle up, even lower mid level would have a maid or several... doesn't have to be too wealthy... it's just so customary here...

Any such kind of service in the US can wipe out your bank savings. Since I have this lung problem for a while, I don't get out to cut my lawn. So, I'm paying like $40 per hour to cut the lawn - mine takes 2 hours to cut. 3 cuts in a month cost me $250.

Another thing is that it is hard to find such a service in the US also. In my case, I have my neighbor agreed to cut the lawn. If I go to a lawn service place, that would cost $80 per hour.
