This is awesome. I have received my new Google Phone today. I'm typing this message from my new toy G1.

I am not a tech person and don't have any phones, but for the life of me--I don't know why--I find these guys that walk around the campus with a phone irritating. All most everyone talk on the phone while they walk around and I am not exaggrating. Are there that much urgent stuff to talk about? I am sure some of the conversations then are about things like washing their hair, taking the dog for a walk, their dental appointment, and flying a kite--you know, emergency stuff.

As you have said, it is absolutely a bad thing to lose the reality and live in a virtual world. It is stupid idea also to drive with phone in the ear. I never drive with phone in my hand or ear. Whenever I see someone driving without any care on the road, the first thing I will notice is that they have a phone in their ear.

The phone is a real necessity. When my wife and I have got into an accident some years ago, the cell phone was really helpful. My t-mobile phone is like 4 years old, and I had problem in tracking the phone calls. The new phone is really helpful to track who has called and keep in touch with other tt junkies.

Yesterday, at the club I could take few photos and send that immediately to my blog. I would be using my phone for more business related and to keep in touch with customers.

Yes phones are really necessary for a lot of people who are like you and those who are busy, but driving with it is dangerous and no longer legal in our state. I still see plenty driving with it, but then I also see ladies putting on makeup, drivers eating or driking with one hand, and other tasks being done in the car that's just as dangerous but still not illegal! :(

Wow! Congrats then, I still remember the exact feeling when I got my first smart phone. It was a Blackberry Pearl 8100. I still use it today, and I agree phone is a necessity. Enjoy it! If you don't mind, can you share with us the monthly fee you have to pay to get internet access? I only have texting and calling :| :| .

I have been using the google phone for a month or two now. It has helped me in situations like I have to find a place. When I go to the doctors office, and wait there for hours, I can get on to the internet and scribble some thoughts. There is quality difference in sound with the google phone - a great deal of nosce reduction. They are far better than my samsung.

However it is very tiny for expressing myself fully. There is nothing like going back to my laptop and writing the blog.

We have a family packagewith T-Mobile for a while. I pay like $65. I don't think that plan is anymore in their list.

In addition to the family package, I have internet access to fuel the google phone. I pay like $30 for that. So all together it comes to $100.

Oh, the additional cost for the internet isn't that extremely bad as I thought it would of been. You get unlimited bandwidth though right?

although nothing beats writing on laptop/computer, having qwerty handphones really makes thing convenience... especially during those times you're waiting for something or to lazy to fire up the computers..

here a couple of companies offering unlimited internet connection on mobile phones for about $10 starting price for the slowest speed... more than enough speed for emailing, writing, chatting, etc. on the phones... not for downloading big stuff...
