New Rubbers with spring sponge technology

Postby varghese » Sat Sep 05, 2009 12:08 am

Everyone knows that Butterfly Tenergy is produced with Spring Sponge technology. Is there any rubber in the market from any brand which has similar technology. I don't want to count the ESN tensor rubbers in this category.

According to Butterfly it's their own technology, allowing "catching" the ball on the racket. "The secret to Spring Sponge is the air locked with the sponge." Other may have similar products; since we don't know the process in which these rubbers are made we are left with guesses.

BTW with time the air escape and the sponge is soften more and more. If you like soft sponge you would like a used sheet of Tenergy more than a new one.

I want to add that I actually like Butterfly's high tension rubbers which Tenergy is one. There is Bryce and G2FX that I have tried also.

I don't remember exactly from where, but I read somewhere that the similar spring sponge technology is being used in some new brand rubbers. I'm curious to know it. I lack control with some of the high speed glue effect rubbers. I'm looking for something similar to Tenergy 25.

Has anyone tried Stiga Boost TX? Is the sponge similar to Butterfly Tenergy's?

I believe Stiga uses their own technology, similar to Butterfly or even Yasaka. But this technology has its origin from ESN, the founder of Tensor technology.

Stiga Boost TX (orTension X-treme) uses Trans Tension Sponge which generates maximum tension, and provides high acceleration returns for a fast spin and speed game. The sponge hardness of Boost TX rubber is between Boost TC and Boost TP. Boost TX is recommended for highly trained attackers with good technical know-how. (Note : as claimed by Stiga marketing)

I cannot comment the difference between Boost TX & Tenergy as I have not tried the rubber before.

I think the Stiga Boost is similar to the Tensor technology. I have played against a player who uses it.
