Thanks for the video and the information. The audio is a bit wonky, is this likely to be a bad dowload or a problem on my system?

There is no real audio until the end of that video where the umpire explaining the testing instruments. What you are hearing from the beginning is the noise from the Las Vegas convention center.

As you see in the video I saw the following instruments (1) Enez (2) thickness measuring tool and (3) test the glossiness of the rubber.

There was no long pips friction testing instrument. I asked about it, and the umpire said there is none. They check whether the long pips rubber is listed in the ITTF approved racket covering list. If it exists, it passes otherwise no.
