Suggestions For Best Blades/Rubbers For Beginners

Postby 729 fx » Mon Jun 01, 2009 7:56 pm

I would like to put the suggestions for best blades for beginners here. The basics thing every beginner should look at are:
1. Don't use carbon blades, try to stick to the wooden blades. Eg. Stiga Classic WRB(for shake-handers), Butterfly LAK or Senkoh series (for penholders)
2. If you go by ratings, stick will ALL or OFF- blades, unless you are very defensive(blocker/chopper style) a DEF blade may be more suitable. I would say that OFF+ blades may be too fast for a beginner to control.
3. Don't use max rubbers, use up to a max thickness of 2.0mm or lower - for ease of control.
4. Don't use very tacky rubbers as it will make the incoming spin very difficult to control
5. Try to use a slower rubber on the backhand(for shakehanders).
1) Primary set-up : YinHe(Galaxy) 986 Sriver FX / Pluto
2) Spare set-up 1 : Japan LAK - CJ8000 / 799 OX
3) Spare set-up 2 : Palio T7 - White Shark / 729 FX

Not the greatest idea but for those who sure to be a EJ.
Don't be afraid to try some different equipments to see what you like--is my advice.
Get a OFF, ALL+, DEF blade each. Get a fast Japanese rubber, a slow Jap rubber, a fast Chinese rubber, and a slow Chinese rubber to find your range with which you are comfortable.
Blades suggestion:
try a Butterfly carbon, Korbel, Toxic 3.
Rubbers suggestions:
Try Bryce speed, Tackifire, Blue Whale, PF4.
Everything else is pretty much within these range.
