Whether expensive or cheap things, the important thing is that the equipment (headband, wristband etc) did their job of keeping the sweat out from the intended area (like eyes, hand).

You're right. It is especially true in a humid place. The place I'm in is less humid, so it does not help with the sweat, but it helps to control the hair.

Me an el'cheapo too.

What I normally do is get some old unused cloth and sew it to look like a head band and tied at the back of the head.

I used it during my badminton and basketball games, now applied it in tt.
