Soo is a long pips-out player. I'm seeing her from the year 2007 in the tournament circuit. As I said she was like 1900 at that time. Now she is 2400. In the last Killerspin Spininvitational she beat Biba. She has surely improved, and a rating of 2400 is very fair. I have seen her playing numerous times. She dies on her forehand and backhand to defend the ball. It is hard to pass a ball through her.
Killerspin promotes her as the member of the Korean National Team. I'm not sure about that. I've asked the Korean Coaches, and they don't know her. She might have played in some Korean National Team "B" or "C". Even I don't know whether that B or C exists. Sure, she has developed her game in Korea and is a tough competitor.
At the US Open this year she played against the Romanian Player Samara. Samara beat her before Soo was taking the momentum (Elisabeth Samara (ROM) def. Lee Soo Yeon (2,4,7,8)). Soo could not defend Samara's attacks.
It's fun watching Soo's game. She is a model too, appeared in few TV ads. The crowd gather to watch her game at tournaments.
