What to you is the easiest ways to victory. To me, they are in this order:
1. Figure the opponent's game and plan ahead what to do.
2. Talk to the player and see how much table tennis he know, what his level is, and what his understand of techniques and strategies.
3. play him.

I need to be careful when I meet you to play ;) .

I think those are some important tactics in a match.

The planning is very important as you have said. The statistics is that the smart players figure out their opponents within first 4 shots. Thats they time, they figure out the speed, spin and control his opponent can generate or has.

At tournament, the rating - the USATT rating - is on the chart. You may mentioning about your opponents level to yours.

I would add one of my tips. In tournaments, I find out the players whom play against beforehand. In the US, I pretty well know other players and their games. When I have time, I walk around and watch those players play. Have they changed their game from last time, what kind of loop stroke they are doing etc...

That helps to plan your attacking strategy against other players.
